ABOUT KAREN

Karen Adams is retired on Vancouver Island in Canada after 40 years in two amazing careers. One as an instructor at MacEwan University and the other as a servicing member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Once fully retired, Karen wrote her challenging memoir as one of the first 32 women to be accepted into the ranks of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1974. She is the single Mom to two amazing daughters, Jasmine of Burnaby, BC and Whitney of Sydney, Australia. Karen believes that her greatest strength is her ability to up lift people and to connect with people from their first ‘Hello’.! !

She adores her newly acquired ocean view home and loves to spend countless hours sitting at the local marine with friends and family, cherishing the pictureque Mount Baker in the background. Karen loves travelling and experiencing the people and the cultures of her new experiences.!!

Karen hopes to be able to share her story through her memoir and through her ability as a public speak. She believes that “ life is not about how you survive the storm, its about how you dance in the rain”.!
